The carabiner is rated at 25 KN or 5600 lbs but it is not certified for rock climbing. But it is still an industrial strength carabiner that seems to be made out very durable material. The website never claimed that this product was certified so I did not deduct points from that.I did have an issue with the locking mechanism being too shallow taking only several turns to fully lock. It won't matter if you are not loading it to capacity but once you start reaching the upper limit of the carabiner, the natural pulling action of the load will tend to spread the carabiner apart and a sturdier locking mechanism would ensure that the carabiner retains it shape at full load.If you are just looking for a carabiner to string your hammock across your favorite tree, this product will more than suffice but if your requirements are near the upper limit of this product, it may be a good idea to shop around some more.
Rebecca Bloomwood
I am a bit on the fluffy side, these are awesome for my hammock. I dont have to worry about a weight limit or anything. They clipped in and work great. These would not work for every style of hammock. Thankfully mine has loops that the hammock attaches to the bar with so it worked well for me. The carabiner is actually to thick to fit through the chain part of the hammock. So that's the only real issue- you have to make sure it'll fit with you hammock. These would not have worked with my old stand.

These guys are tough! Solid steel carabiners, heavy spring action, positive screw lock, just as advertised. They're a little too heavy for rock climbing but great for everything else! Highly recommended.
KeithKeith
These are not your average carabiner. These are heavy duty, and feel very secure. They are bigger than I expected. To lock down, there is a metal, knurled knob that twists to lock. It has enough threads that it feels like you can get it securely locked, and it’s easy to turn to undo. I am a big fan of these. If you need a heavy duty carabiner, I would recommend these.
Nate W
Solid carabiners, with great locking mechanism, and BIG. I liked the heavy feel as soon as got them out of the package; one in the hand feels like you're holding onto a medium-sized padlock.Off the top of my head, these are things I would NOT use them for:1. Climbing: since they are not certified for it, I probably wouldn't use these to rock climb (why risk it?) However, I'm not a rock climber, so this limitation won't affect me at all.2. Keychain: these are way too big and heavy to use for your keys.3. Backpacking: again, WAY too heavy!! When every half-ounce counts, I'd much rather spend whatever it takes and pick up some lightweight titanium carabiners at the local outdoor store, which I could then use to hoist my food up & away from the bears at night.I can't tell if these would start rusting when chronically exposed to moisture, so I'm not certain if I'd want to use these on a river raft, or to secure a sun-shade over my patio (the latter was my original thought when I ordered them). if I do decide to leave them outside and use them in such a manner, then I'll be back with an edit and let you know how they held-up to the elements. These have multiple car camping applications (keeping food away from the bears, setting up a hammock or a shade tarp, hanging a lantern, etc), so I'll be keeping these in my van.Highly recommended for any non life-risking applications, when you need something solid to carry a load (ie not a lightweight toy, like a cute neon colored carabiner you'd use as a keychain), and where weight is not a big concern.

I received this great set of lat pulldown handles. The only problem with them is that they didn't fit on any of my prior carabiners. They do however work with these heavy-duty carabiners. Yup, it's that simple. Sometimes you just need the right piece for the job.

Large opening carabiners are an important accessory for any power rack set up. These fit that bill perfectly. I use these for resistance bands and other cable strap type movements. So for lifting and personal use these are everything I expect. I also happen to be rope rescue certified through ROCO. As such I wouldn’t use a 25KN carabiner for life safety applications, that’s what 50KN carabiners are for.
Brandon M Campbell
Using for shooting targets and been great so far.
Auntie Warhol
These are some very strong, hefty carabiners. The twist lock feels solid and should hold well. Are these good enough for something like rock climbing, where you're life is literally on the line? Well, I'm not a rock climber, so I don't know what a rock climber would look for in a carabiner. So, I can't really say for certain, and don't risk your life on my word. But they *seem* to me like they'd be fine. They're certainly going to work well for my application as part of a truck bed tie-down apparatus.

Very nice, well made carabiners. Will work great for some magnet fishing.
Michael W. Oliver
Nice, smooth carabiners for general purposed use, hanging all kinds of stuff around the house and shop. They are screw locking, which is nice, though the threads can be a bit crusty. Honestly, for the cost you can't really expect perfection. I believe that these are a good value for the price and if you use carabiners for utility and need some that lock then you can't really go wrong here, I think. If you don't need a locking carabiner then there are other options that I would prefer over these, typically in stainless or aluminium. Very satisfied with these carabiners.
D. KepnerD. Kepner
These are very heavy carabiners that claim to be rated for up to 5600 pounds. The locking mechanism requires about 1.5 turns to fully lock/unlock so it shouldn't come unlocked accidentally. I won't be using them for rock climbing since I don't do rock climbing, but I will be using them around the garage and property.
Macgyver in PA
However, these are more than enough for non-essential utility use where high weight-bearing levels are needed.
G8RinATLG8RinATL
Product says it is rated to 6,600 lbs. and had a lifetime warranty. Will be replacing several carabiners on my smith machine with these, which are much more stout. Locking mechanism is smooth and solid.
Jay CobbJay Cobb
These are nice strong carabiner! They feel solid and work smoothly.I was hoping for some sort of certification so I could be comfortable using them for climbing, but I didn't find any certification on them. They do have a "lifetime guarantee" but if you have a safety device that fails and you die does that automatically end the gurantee because your lifetime is now over? Or do ny kids get a refund on the carabine? I'm not sure how that works... haha! The bottom line is they are really good solid carabiner and will hold most anything you throw at them. I won't be using them for climbing because they aren't certified but they are probably made in the same factory as some that are.

I got these to add to some gear I keep in my Jeep for my outdoor adventures. I do not do any hardcore climbing but these seem to be very sturdy and should work for you if that is what you are into to doing. I really like that the gate has a screw lock to secure it from opening in case your rope gets twisted for any reason. I recently tested these in a non emergency use to see how they did and they were great for what I needed. I did use 2 for safety purposes but there was no need as they performed flawlessly. A great addition to my rope and harness.

I've stretched and disfigured other carabiners well under their weight capacities. I don't think that'll be a problem with these ones. The metal is very thick and the locking sleeve keeps things tight. Seems like these ones should last forever.
cherylyn
Just ordered wrong size
NDalum1979
There are 2 of these carabiners in the package. They seem to be very sturdy and heavy for their size. The arms open easily to clip them onto your object. Was surprised by how big they are compared to others I have used and I am expecting them to last a long time.

O.K. So, I had ordered an anchor rope for my boat which came with a small (really small) carabiner. When I tried to attach it to my larger anchor, I couldn't get the carabiner around the anchor loop frame (see pic). I have also had a different, non-locking carabiner, open while trying to set my anchor. I ordered this Fitness Invention locking carabiner and "problem solved". Plenty of opening gap to handle any anchor I might use and NO CHANCE of having it open thanks to the locking mechanism. Bonus: the weight rating is way more than I can conceive of needing. I'm a happy "Boaty-Mc-Boat-face"!

Only thing I'd caution is these carabiners are much thicker than most carabiners on the market, so they might not fit your equipment if it has holes rather than big D-rings or something. Like I wanted to put these on Tonal T-locks and they won't go through the holes. But zero complaints at all about the carabiners themselves. THey're ridiculously heavy duty. I'll find a use for them somewhere, for sure.

This is exactly what I needed for the job

These extra-large clips really feel solid and strong - and seem very durable. Of course, I really have no way of testing them, but the claims of the manufacture regarding the supportable weight limit seem reasonable and are likely to be accurate. These are not the lightweight aluminum carabiner clips that you may have seen around. I especially like the black screw-on safety lock - keeps the clip closed when you want it closed, but easy to open when you want it open. Due to the steel/metal material construction, they do have a bit of weight to them (not super heavy, but these are clearly not meant to be wimpy lightweight clips), so you may want to consider whether weight is an issue before ordering. If you need a really strong large clip, this is probably what you need.

This carabiners are great for any type of work that you want to do, very good material used and it can hold a lot of weight. This are perfect to keep in your truck to tie down stuff, I would definitely recommend this product to anybody.

This review is for the Carabiner Heavy Duty - 4.3 Inch Locking Carabiner Clip, Large Carabiner Clip, Heavy Duty Carabiner, Hammock Hooks, Carbineers, Extra Large Carabiner, Steel Carabiner, Oval CarabinerUsing on my wall mounted cable weight machine. Super strong and well made. Overkill for my application I am sure. Better to go big than be sorry later

Steel carabiners feel like good quality, the spring in the gate feels nice and sturdy. I also like on the screw gate that the way the nose protrudes out of the gate a little bit it takes all the play out of the gate when the lock is engaged. They came polished/pretty. And there is only a rating for the major axis on the carabiner and not one for the minor axis or with the gate open.
J. Kim
Thick carabiner, used on my sons swing and it’s absolutely well made. Love the durability and easy locking mechanism as the slotted groves are well designed
J. P.J. P.
These feel surprisingly hefty in the hand. For gym use, they're about as solid as you'd ever need. I personally would not trust these to take a fall in rock climbing, but for anything where equipment failure doesn't mean death, these are a good option. The narrowest part of the gate is about 18mm (0.70"), so these will fit over larger 5/8" chains. (I know I'm using the caliper weird in the pic. It was the only way I could hold it open with the caliper and take the pic.) The carabiner itself is thicker than you'd see on most cable machine carabiners, so it might not fit into some cable attachments. The locking mechanism spins smoothly and locks/unlocks within less than 2 complete turns.Only word of caution for gym use is to be careful with setup if you're using these with bands, since the knurling can chew on the band material. With the right setup, it's no problem.

These carabiners are made out of chromed steel and seem to have tight manufacturing tolerances, as all four of them look identical and have gates/locks which work smoothly but have very little wobble or gaps. They seem very strong and I would feel secure putting my weight on them. They're definitely heavier than typical climbing carabiners, but from what I recall 25kN is also pretty strong by that standard and these aren't billed as being for climbing use so that's fine. The only negative I see is that the point where the gate closes on the loop seems to be a bit too thick for the lock sleeve to actually fit properly around the bar. The sleeve is able to close to a point that it is effectively locking the gate, but it's only catching on the edge of the loop bar instead of actually sliding around it. As a result, fully locked to not-locked is only one full rotation and does not look very different at a distance. I think this is fine for situations where nothing is likely to brush against the lock inadvertently, like a typical hammock mount, and like I said I wouldn't use these for climbing anyway because they're heavy. Still, it seems to be not ideal to me.
This_One
These had a nice weight to them, were easy to lock but secure. Heavy duty and well made Carabiners.
kathy
Can definitely use this one handed. Feels solid at 163g or 5.75oz. The collar has a smooth rotation as you can see from the video. The video also demostrates it is possible and perhaps important to crank it a little harder to lock it into place, so it doesn't unintentionally unwind with excessive motion, rubbing, animals, etc,...
AggieMomAggieMom
These are truly heavy duty. They have the added security of a cap that secures the opening. It is a pack of four and a card was included that said they have a life-time warranty.

These are great each one is heavy-duty.

We use a lot of carabiners because of camping, horses, hammocks, and Molly attachments on packs. These are the strongest I have ever seen. They are steel, not aluminum, and rated at over 5,000 pounds. You could hang anything from these. The description mentions climbing, but I don't think they are certified for that. The steel is about 3/8" thick, so they cannot be used with smaller chains. They lock shut and unlock easily. I will be using these for when I need the strongest I have.
Christina HernandezChristina Hernandez
These carabiners are sturdy. I got them for my Boy Scout to use on his backpacking trips and my daughter to use to hold up her aerial silks. They say they 5,600lbs, not sure about that rating and we’ll never get to that capacity. However, I do have confidence that they will hold his 245 lb self and my 75 lb daughter as she does air flips.
Christopher C
Highly polished heavy duty steel. Stamped with 25 KN (kilo newtons) or 5600 lbs. rating. Knurled locking collar to lock gate in closed position. Strong gate spring. Good for securing towing safety chains or hauling and tie-down. Would not use for climbing unless it was certified.
Toucifer
These are a decent set of carabiners. They screw up and down smoothly. Not much else to say, they're just a good pair of heavy duty carabiners.

As a mobile hunter, I use a tree climber to get into position. That means I am usually 10-30 feet up a tree and safety is very important. Using a safety line and harness is crucial in being a safe outdoorsman and a high-quality carabiner is a very overlooked piece of the puzzle. These carabiners are heavy-duty, strong, and well-made. I like how you can easily clip it on and then screw the clip shut to lock it closed. My only suggestion would be to offer these in different colors, specifically when hunting, you don't want to have anything metallic or shiny visible, so I'll probably take a rattle can to paint them a natural dull color.
THATguy
These work great for my home plate-loaded lat pulldown machine. Many of the carabiners that originally came with my cable machine attachments are of questionable quality but NOT these. They’re overkill for my needs but at least I the have piece of mine knowing they won’t break on me and causing potential injury. They do include a locking mechanism which is something I’ll never but it is available when securing heavier loads. These are FIRE!
Bargain Hunter
These are exactly what I was looking for -- heavy and heavy duty, large, well-made locking carabiners with both ends curved and in silver. Just hoping the plastic turn locks never become loose or broken... But, if that should happen in the distant future, I'll just have to buy more of the same.
Lawrence
These are my far the sturdiest carabiners I’ve purchased.
M. S.M. S.
Really nice quality carabiner. Heavy duty construction with locking collar that is threaded and turns with ease. Multiple applications and the ability to hold heavy weight objects with a rating of 5600lbs. Attaching to difficult to reach tie down locations in truck. Makes it much easier to attach tie down hooks, etc. Does not compromise the security of being able to handle the weight of secured load like a lighter weight carabiner.
LL
These are ok for the price. They seem heavy duty enough that I would attached items like a hammock that would exert quite a bit of force. However, the locking mechanism is not quick or smooth like more expensive carabiners that have a built-in spring and require just a half turn.

Needed a new D-Ring for my 10lb chains I use at the gym. And these came in clutch.Heavy duty construction, very solid and weighed themselves.Easily handle my 10lb and 15lb chains I use for bench/squat/deadlifts.Secure spin collar keeps chains secure and helps peace of mind to know they won’t come undone.
Kevin "Doc"
These are a heavy duty set and will do the job. They are strong and large and will be something I can use in an emergency.

This is a really high-quality, locking carabiner. Probably my favorite feature is that the locking mechanism works with a single rotation of knurled lock. As the manufacturer mentions, it is in fact quite easy to lock and unlock with just one hand. I'm able to lock and unlock it with just my thumb while holding it in the same hand. One thing that was not mentioned on the product page is the diameter of the shaft. My calipers read it as just slightly less than 3/8". That's relatively thick compared to the 20KN carabiner I was using for my block & tackle mount. It actually didn't bit through the old chain. This is not a negative, I'm actually glad it's a bit more hefty, I just wish I had known the diameter in advance.

These have some weight to them. Easy to use. No instructions or anything with helpful tips come with them. Although, we know what they can be used for, but it would be nice to have some tips.

Got this Fitness Invention Heavy Duty Carabiner to go along with some heavy nylon climbing rope for all sorts of uses around the homestead. Build quality seems good, nice thick heavy steel and looks right for 5600-lb spec but without an independent certification it's hard to tell if it's really true to spec, lock is tight, lock spring is firm. I think I can trust this with almost everything, including myself as a static load but not dynamic, so limit use in climbing safety lines to emergencies when certified equipment is not available. Price point is good, consistent with similar items. Comes in a retail box.Overall, 5 stars, good heavy duty carabiner.Hope that helps, thanks for reading.

These are great for fast winch set ups I use mine for integrating snatch blocks on pully set ups for witching my generator up the loading ramps into truck .so far so good.heavy duty construction and materials and snap lock are a Garantee there gonna stay put. they should last a good long time ! Good product

The carabiner has a bright finish with a black locking screw collar. There are no sharp or rough edges. The body material of the carabiner is .39 inches in diameter. I found that I could rotate the collar of about 1 1/2 times from the lock position until the gate would be able to open. For reference, my climbing rated carabiners require more than two revolutions of the collar before opening. The body of the carabiner is stamped 5KN -- 5600 pounds. Unlike carabiners, rated for climbing, there is no indication of its strength if cross loaded or loaded in any direction other than along its length, or what amount of force would cause the gate to fail. Because of its lack of certification, I would not use this carabiner for climbing. However, I like the quality of the finish and the locking mechanism seems adequate if the carabiner is used with the weight along its length. The steel it is made of is heavy duty and I believe it will be very durable. This device would be very useful in the shop, gym, or on the farm or camping or boating. Used within its limitations, the carabiner should support a very heavy load. I deducted one star because of the reference to Petzl in the seller's description which could mislead some customers into thinking it is suitable for climbing.

I needed a carabiner for my boat to support a rope ladder on the bow of the boat and the tow rope on the back of my boat for water sports. When looking at carabiners, I wanted something that had a locking mechanism for safety purposes, especially when towing a water tube or water skiing. I also needed a strong carabiner for these purposes and this product fit the bill. It can support a heavy amount of weight, has a large opening to connect things, and has a locking mechanism. Would highly recommend it if looking for a strong carabiner.

This item is packaged in a cardboard box. Each carabiner is in a separate zip lock bag.The carabiners are very heavy duty. They are stamped "25KN 5600 lbs." The clip lock moves easily into place to keep the carabiner closed and just as easily out of the way so it can open. The clip spring is very strong and will stay closed if you forget to lock it. There is no kind of certification on it so I would not bet my life on it keeping me safe. I would however have no problem using it to rig a log to pull out of the woods. The description does say it is "lab tested" but does not specify the lab. It also lists a lot of uses but does not mention climbing. There is a card enclosed to register for a lifetime warranty if you are willing to give up your email address. You also get a coupon code for 15% off of any of their items when you register. There was no privacy statement on sign up so it is probably safe to say I signed up for a bunch of spam. The box indicates this item is made in China.

The carabiners are very heavy duty, nice, and shiny, with no sharp edges. They are stamped "25KN 5600 lbs." The clip lock is probably the best feature of these carabiner, it is easily closed by sliding it and it does not slip or accidently open. The clip spring is very strong and will stay closed if you forget to lock it.I will be using these to hang and work heavy pieces of equipment in my workshop and around the house. I have no concerns with the load and sturdiness.

These can 100% be used for climbing. They are 5600 lb rated with a screw closer to keep them from coming open. Very nice polished steel. 2 thumbs up.

Watch my video and it pretty much says it all. Nice units rated at 5600 pounds however, I wouldn’t trust my life to them. But for all other uses with ropes and using them in the gym to connect things together, I think they’ll be more than fine. Good fit and finish. They screw down and locked tight. I think they’re good but and will serve you well.

When roping up down trees, these have been great. None have failed
